Become a volunteer

Our volunteers are our most important asset, alongside our RDA ponies! Contact us to arrange a visit so you can meet us and see if you would like to add your skills to our team. Every volunteer is different and there are many different ways to get involved. You can help in the lessons, with the horses or with the riders. Or you may prefer to be behind the scenes in one of many varied tasks.

Come and take a look at our set up and see where you think you would best fit in. The more volunteers we have - the more riding lessons we can give! - As more new volunteers join us and train up, we will increase our capacity to offer our RDA lessons to more riders. We do have riders on our waiting list - so we are ready to expand whenever you are ready to join us - We can't do this without you!

Practical and Professional Assistance

If you have a practical skill (eg. carpentry, art and design, leather working, administrative, bookkeeping, fundraising etc.) or you are a health professional (such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, psychology) and you have an interest in finding out more about healing with horses, or would like to become involved in some way, please contact us.

Become a rider

We offer weekly RDA riding lessons to people living with disabilities. The lessons take 40 minutes and are free of charge. If you, or someone in your care, would like to be considered for our RDA program please contact us to arrange for a free assessment. Our lessons are currently on Monday and Wednesday mornings. We hope to be able to offer more sessions on other weekdays, as we grow our facilities and build up our volunteer team.

Financial assistance

If you would like to sponsor a disadvantaged rider, or donate towards a building project please contact us. Our centre is very new and we are still building up the necessary infrastructure. We have the following needs on our wish list - a toilet for the disabled, a round pen (for training horses and teaching RDA lessons), and a sheltered waiting area for parents/carers/riders.

We are registered as a PBO and authorized by SARS to issue section 18 tax certificates.
